Catchment area
The area of influence of the Warsaw/Modlin Airport. defined as the area of commuting up to 2h is similar to the area of the Mazovian Voivodeship and includes about 5 million people. Importantly, Mazovia produces as much as 22% of Poland's GDP, and wages are approx. 30% higher than the national average. Warsaw/Modlin Airport allows air carriers easy access to this large, prosperous and dynamic market. The actual area of influence also includes the area of other provinces, especially those where airports do not currently operate - Podlaskie Province and partly Warmian-Masurian Province, which increases the number of potential airport passengers to about 7.5 million people.
Our surveys conducted at the port indicate that about 50% of passengers come from the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, of which about 25% come from Warsaw itself, more than 42% from other provinces, and almost 8% from abroad, which confirms, the size of the actual area of influence of Warsaw/Modlin Airport.
The airport's catchment area - layers indicate 1, 2 hour commute times and the area beyond these commute times, from where a large number of passengers also originate.
