The area of influence

The area of influence of Warsaw Modlin Airport, defined as the area within 2 hours' drive, is close to the area of Masovian Voivodeship and it includes around 5 million people. What is important, Masovia is where as much as 22% of Poland's GDP is generated, and where salaries are by about 30% higher than the national average. Warsaw Modlin Airport provides access for air carriers to this huge, abundant and dynamic market. The actual area of influence also covers other voivodeships, in particular those where there are currently no airports - Podlaskie Voivodeship and partly Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship, which increases the number of potential passengers at the airport to about 7,5 million people.

Our surveys carried out in the airport premises showed that about 50% of passenger come from Masovian Voivodeship, with 25% of them being from Warsaw, over 42% are from other voivodeships, and almost 8% from abroad, which confirms the actual size of the area of influence of Warsaw Modlin Airport.

Airport catchment area – layers indicate 1 and 2 hours travel time but also points an area exceeding those travel time limits, where a lot of passengers also come from.
