Mazowiecki Port Lotniczy Warszawa-Modlin Sp. z o.o. performs all its duties under Regulation (EC) No 1107/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 July 2006 concerning the rights of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when travelling by air from Warsaw Modlin Airport without any extra charges, through the ground handling agent: Welcome Airport Services Sp. z o.o.

Welcome Airport Services runs a point for receiving applications concerning arrival of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility to Warsaw Modlin Airport.

The point is located in the generally accessible part of the Terminal at the ticket offices marked with the Welcome Airport Services logo (in the corner of the hall to the right from check-in desks). Request for assistance can be submitted after coming to the airport, by use of two SOS/PRM panels installed at the entrance to the terminal departures hall.

Assistance at Warsaw Modlin Airport is provided for both departing and arriving passengers.

The airport has designated special parking spaces for disabled persons, located at the shortest distance from the passenger terminal.

The personnel responsible for security control is trained to properly perform the control of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility.

The degree and type of disability are taken into account during security check. If the screener cannot properly perform the control, in order to secure your privacy and comfort, they may ask for the control to be carried out in a room for individual control.

The equipment that helps you move around will also be checked according to the provisions on civil aviation security.

Cooperation with the screeners and informing them about your disability will prevent any misunderstandings and will make the security check expeditious.

In order to provide high quality of services and to ensure security, Warsaw Modlin Airport has elaborated quality indicators which are included in the following documents:

  • PRM Quality Standard and PRM Code

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

Warsaw/Modlin Airport Launches the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program

Warsaw/Modlin Airport, prioritizing the comfort of all passengers, launched the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program on November 2, 2022.

The idea for the “Sunflower” program originated in the United Kingdom in 2016. Its purpose is to facilitate travel for individuals with hidden disabilities and to raise awareness of such conditions. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program aims to educate society about hidden disabilities and, in particular, to sensitize those working in the broader service sector to the challenges faced by individuals with invisible disabilities during travel. The sunflower on a green background discreetly signals to everyone in the airport that a person displaying an item with the logo may need support and personalized assistance during their journey.

By joining this initiative, which is increasingly embraced by institutions and public spaces worldwide—including many airports—employees of Warsaw/Modlin Airport strive to create a more inclusive environment for all individuals with disabilities, including those that are invisible.

Lanyards featuring the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower logo will be available for passengers at the airport information desk at Warsaw/Modlin Airport. It’s important to note that these items are designed to signal hidden disabilities.
